Fit

We are not right for everyone.

Most agency sites imply they can help anybody. That wastes your time and ours. Here is who we do our best work with, and who should hire somebody else.

Work with us if

You have a real problem, not an AI mandate

Something in the business is slow, expensive or breaking, and AI might be part of the answer. That is a far better starting point than a board asking what your AI strategy is.

You own the data the problem lives in

Documents, tickets, transactions, records. Retrieval-based systems are only as good as the material behind them, and you already having it is most of the battle.

Someone on your side can make decisions

Projects stall when every question routes through a committee. One person who can say yes is worth more to the timeline than any amount of process.

You want to own what gets built

Code, infrastructure and documentation transfer to you. We would rather you could leave than depend on us — and if you stay, it should be because the work is good.

You care what happens after launch

AI features drift as providers change models and real usage diverges from what you tested. Clients who plan for that get systems that keep working.

Hire someone else if

You want AI because competitors announced it

We will ask what it should do for your users. If there is no answer, we will say so rather than build something impressive and useless.

You need it live in three weeks

Something can be running in three weeks. Something you can safely put in front of customers usually cannot. We would rather decline than ship you a demo you have to defend.

The requirement is a fixed spec, unchangeable

AI projects change shape once you see real outputs. If the scope cannot move at all, a conventional build shop will serve you better and cost less.

You are shopping purely on day rate

We are not the cheapest option and will not win that comparison. If price is the deciding factor, take the cheaper quote — it is the rational move.

The problem does not need a model

Plenty of work pitched as AI is better served by a database query or better-designed software. We will tell you when that is the case, which sometimes means talking ourselves out of the project.

Not sure which column you are in?

Most people are somewhere between. Describe the problem and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it — including when the answer is no.
